It's been quite some time since I've posted to this blog! And it's about time that I come back to it.
My first quarter of my Master's program in Predictive Analytics at Northwestern University is now complete! Looking back at it, despite the struggle in managing work, school, family, and friends, I loved every second of it. It's only been around 4 years since I graduated with my Bachelor's yet when I first started attending the online classes, I was fearful and scared.
Flashback to when you were a kid going to your first day of class -- I was one of those kids that hated this! I remember my first day of kindergarten and holding on to my mom as she tried to drop me off at the classroom.
Well, although I was quite nervous starting school again, the set-up of this program was excellent. It's an online part-time program and everyone else is juggling work and school at the same time. We share this common ground and it although we're all over the world, we're able to relate and connect. I absolutely love how the program is working. Additionally, prior to the program, one of my main concerns was the attention that professors would provide to students. Realistically, I thought that it would be incredibly cold and impersonal. I was wrong. Dr. Phil, my professor for my math for modelers class, was fantastic. He truly tried to connect with each of this students! Keep in mind, he had at least 3-4 sessions / courses that we was teaching!
Now, I'm 4 weeks into my second quarter and time is flying by! This quarter will be over mid-March. I'm taking two classes this quarter: stats and database implementations. And YES, the applications to HR in these classes are REAL. I'll be working on some new blog posts on these soon!
